Tony Fairbank holds a Ph.D. in Chinese history from the University of Washington (1994) and has been studying Chinese history, literature, and thought since 1975. He is a translator and a teacher of things Chinese, and things Buddhist (and Taoist and Persian).
Dr. Fairbank has had his translations published by Yale University Press and Stanford’s Cantor Center for Visual Arts. A resident of Concord, Massachusetts, he is now working on translations from a seventh-century Chinese text called the Jin shu, The History of the Jin Dynasty (266-420).
